By submitting a manuscript, it is understood that the author has agreed to our terms and conditions which may change from time to time without notice. Prospective authors are expected to submit only their own original work. Manuscripts that violate the principles of general publication may be rejected. If the violation is considered severe, then strict action may be taken by the Research and Community Service Institute of STAI Al Musaddadiyah Garut to the author. Therefore, writers must avoid plagiarism because there are consequences for writers who are caught plagiarizing. The author will be responsible for what happens if copyright infringement or any violation of law is committed by publishing the research work by the author. Before publication, the author should check whether this journal is accepted by his/her superior (supervisor or other author members), or any authority to which he/she intends to submit his/her research work. We will not be responsible in the event that at any time, due to legal reasons, the journal stops accepting the publication of manuscripts or cannot publish manuscripts already accepted, we have the right to cancel all or any of the manuscripts without any compensation or refund any kind of processing fee.

The Research and Community Service Institute of STAI Al Musaddadiyah Garut tries to process manuscripts quickly but if for any reason the online publication of a manuscript is delayed, we will not be responsible for any consequences in delayed online publication. Authors can download the PDF file from the journal's website or request a high-quality PDF file of the published paper to the publishing service operator. If the author requires hardcopy publication, he/she can contact the publishing team with other terms and conditions determined by the Research and Community Service Institute of STAI Al Musaddadiyah Garut.

Note: This guideline is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) which has been adopted in the Head of LIPI Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications.


Duties and Responsibilities of the Journal Manager

  • Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation if needed.
  • Determine the membership of the editorial board.
  • Define the relationship between publishers, editors, reviewers, and other parties in a contract.
  • Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors, editors, and peer-reviewers.
  • Implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
  • Review journal policies and communicate them to authors, the editorial board, peer-reviewers, and readers.
  • Establish code of conduct guidelines for editors and peer-reviewers.
  • Publish the journal on a regular basis.
  • Ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publishing.
  • Build cooperation and marketing networks.
  • Prepare licenses and other legal aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Journal Editor

  • Meet the needs of readers and writers.
  • Strive for continuous improvement of publication quality.
  • Implement a process to ensure the quality of published papers.
  • Promote freedom of opinion objectively.
  • Maintain the integrity of the author's academic track record.
  • Submit corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies when necessary.
  • Take responsibility for the style and format of the paper, while the content and all statements in the paper remain the responsibility of the author.
  • Actively solicit the opinions of authors, readers, referees, and members of the editorial board to improve the quality of publications.
  • Encourage the assessment of the journal when there are findings.
  • Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by requiring authors to submit ethical clearance forms that have been approved by the Ethical Clearance Committee.
  • Support initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics.
  • Review the effects of publication policies on the attitudes of authors and reviewers and improve them to increase responsibility and minimize errors.
  • Have an open mind to new opinions or views of others that may conflict with personal opinions.
  • Not defend one's own, the author's, or a third party's opinion that may lead to a non-objective decision.
  • Encourage the author to improve the paper until it is fit for publication.

Duties and Responsibilities of Peer-Reviewers

  • Receive an assignment from the editor to review the paper and submit the review to the editor as material for determining the eligibility of a paper for publication.
  • Not review papers that involve themselves, either directly or indirectly.
  • Maintain the author's confidentiality by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations on the manuscripts they review.
  • Encourage the author to improve the manuscript.
  • Review the corrected papers in accordance with the predetermined standards.
  • Review the manuscript in a timely manner in accordance with the journal's style and based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author's legality, conclusion drawing, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

  • Ensure that those included in the list of authors meet the criteria as authors.
  • Be collectively responsible for the work and content of the manuscript/article including methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
  • State the origin of resources (including funding), either directly or indirectly.
  • Explain the limitations of the research.
  • Respond to comments made by peer-reviewers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Inform the editor if they will withdraw the paper.
  • Make a statement that the paper submitted for publication is original, has never been published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of submission to another publisher.

Author Complaints

Jurnal Hukum Ekonomi Syariah (JHESy) takes all complaints regarding the publication process, publication ethics, or the conduct of the editorial board and reviewers seriously.

  • Complaints should be directed to the journal's principal contact or the Publisher (Research and Community Service Institute of STAI Al Musaddadiyah Garut).
  • All complaints will be acknowledged and investigated confidentially, fairly, and objectively, following the guidelines set by COPE.
  • We are committed to resolving issues swiftly and will communicate the outcome of the investigation directly to the complainant.

Editorial Appeals

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions, particularly in cases of manuscript rejection. To submit an appeal, authors must:

  • Submit a formal appeal letter via email to the Editor-in-Chief within 30 days of the decision.
  • Provide a detailed and point-by-point rebuttal to the reviewer's or editor's comments, along with any relevant evidence or new data.

  • The Editor-in-Chief, alongside designated members of the editorial board who were not involved in the original decision, will review the appeal.
  • The decision resulting from the appeal review is final.
