F.A.Q (Frequently Asked Questions)
1. Can I still submit my manuscript this month?
Jurnal Hukum Ekonomi Syariah (JHESy) accepts manuscript submissions at any time, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day without restrictions. However, the publication schedule depends heavily on the results of the peer review process and the final decision of the Editor.
2. How long does the publication process take in JHESy?
Every incoming manuscript will go through a review process: 1. Initial assessment by the editor (desk review), and 2. A rigorous double-blind peer review by at least two independent and competent peer reviewers. The duration of both processes depends largely on the availability of the editors and peer reviewers, as well as the smooth communication between the corresponding author and the editor during the revision period.
3. Can my manuscript be published immediately, as it is a requirement for my graduation?
Please avoid making requests for expedited publication to the Editor. JHESy strictly maintains the quality and integrity of the scholarly record by adhering to standard review processes. Requesting unreasonable acceleration will not affect the schedule, and all authors are expected to follow the editorial procedures properly.
4. Is it possible to submit manuscripts via email?
The governance of JHESy, from manuscript submission to publication, is fully web-based (OJS). This helps authors track the status of their manuscripts in real-time and communicate systematically with the editor through the journal website. Therefore, we do not accept manuscript submissions via email.
5. Can I urge the editor to process my manuscript as quickly as possible?
Processing incoming manuscripts efficiently is already a priority for our editors. However, please refrain from pressuring the editor, as all stages, especially the peer review process, require adequate time to ensure the accuracy and quality of the assessment.
6. When will my manuscript be accepted and published?
The time of acceptance and publication depends heavily on the originality of your manuscript, how quickly and accurately you make the requested revisions, and the final recommendations from the peer reviewers.
7. Who is responsible for making or arranging the payment?
The corresponding author is responsible for making or arranging the payment process, either independently or through a supporting institution, after the manuscript is officially accepted by the editorial board.
8. At which stage is the publication fee determined?
The applicable Publication Fee (APC) is the fee stated in the journal's policy at the time you submit your manuscript. The agreed charge for your manuscript will not change, regardless of any adjustments to the journal's APC in the future.
9. When and how do I pay?
Upon official acceptance of the manuscript, the corresponding author will receive a payment notification. We strongly advise that payment be settled promptly, as the article will not enter the production stage for publication until payment confirmation is received. Currently, the APC at JHESy is IDR 300,000, covering publication administration, copyediting, typesetting, DOI, hosting, and digital preservation. APC is not a payment to peer reviewers and does not affect the editorial process or decisions.
10. What payment methods are accepted?
Payment is made via bank transfer. Payments can be made online (online banking) or offline through a bank teller to our official account. After transferring, you must confirm the payment by sending the transfer receipt to the journal administrator via email. We will verify and notify you once the funds have been received.
11. Can charges be waived if I lack funds?
Currently, JHESy does not consider individual waiver requests or fee reductions due to a lack of funds, considering that the APC is already designed to be highly affordable for researchers and institutions.
12. What alternative funding sources are available?
Many research funding agencies and universities allow the use of research grants to cover APCs. We encourage authors to check their respective institutional policies, as an increasing number of institutions actively allocate publication funds to support open access.
