Jurnal Hukum Ekonomi Syariah is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication quality. To ensure the scientific validity of all published articles, we implement a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process.

The evaluation of submitted manuscripts follows these steps:

  1. Initial Desk Review (Editorial Triage):

Upon submission, the Editorial Board will conduct an initial evaluation of the manuscript. This step ensures that the article aligns with the journal's Focus and Scope, adheres strictly to the journal's formatting template, and passes the initial plagiarism screening. During this stage, the editor may communicate with the author to request preliminary adjustments. Manuscripts that fail to meet these basic criteria will be returned to the author or desk-rejected before being sent to reviewers.

  2. Double-Blind Peer Review Assignment:

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial desk review are anonymized and assigned to a minimum of two (2) independent reviewers. JHESy strictly employs a double-blind review method, meaning the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept strictly confidential from each other throughout the entire process.

  3. Review Criteria:

Reviewers will comprehensively evaluate the manuscript based on its academic merit. Key considerations include the study's novelty, objectivity, soundness of methodology, scientific impact, validity of conclusions, and the relevance and recency of the references.

  4. Reviewer Recommendations:

After a thorough assessment, the reviewers will provide constructive feedback and recommend one of the following actions to the editor:

    • Accept Submission (without revisions)
    • Revisions Required (minor or major revisions needed before acceptance)
    • Decline Submission (rejected)

  5. Final Editorial Decision:

The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the handling editors, will make the final decision regarding the publication of the manuscript. This decision is heavily based on the reports and recommendations provided by the reviewers. If the two reviewers have significantly conflicting recommendations, the editor may assign a third reviewer to reach a consensus.

  6. Editorial Decision and Appeals:

The initial decision made by the Editor-in-Chief is binding. However, authors have the right to appeal this decision, particularly in cases of rejection, within 30 days. Please refer to our Publication Ethics for the complete appeal procedure. The decision resulting from the appeal review is conclusive and final. An appeal may be filed only once per manuscript. Filing an appeal does not halt the editorial process for other manuscripts.
